Sudden Young Cardiac Death - UK Experience

Sudden Young Cardiac Death is a subject which has received widespread publicity due to the death of high profile athletes. Here in the UK 800 young people, 8-10 per week, die suddenly. There have been great advances in the diagnosis and clinical implications for families where most of the sudden deaths are due to cardiac disease, including channelopathies, cardiomyopathies, myocarditis, anomalous coronary arteries, etc.

Where's my Biopsy Result? - An event for medical students

What happens to a surgical specimen once it's been removed from a patient? It goes to the lab and a result appears several days later. But what happens to it there and why does it take so long?
This is an opportunity to see what happens and have a go at making slides yourself. By learning how specimens are processed you will be able to gain a better understanding of the reports that are produced. You could probably teach your fellow students a thing or two!
