22nd May - 'Born to save Charlie'

In 2003 the Whitakers found themselves at the centre of controversy when it was revealed Michelle Whitaker had given birth to one of Britain’s first genetic ‘designer’ babies. Jamie was born after being genetically matched, while still an IVF embryo, to his ill brother, Charlie. Last week, the Whitakers were in the news again when doctors declared Charlie cured.
